Meet Darius Stewart
I was born in 1942, and born again (from above) in 1958. My wife and I live in Kernersville, N.C. We have lived in and around Winston-Salem all our lives. We have 2 grown boys.
I surrendered to preach in 1962; I pastored the Woodland Baptist Mission for about 2 years; at which time a number of churches with goodly insight came together and it became the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission.
Later, I joined the Gethsemane Quartet of Greensboro, with whom I remained for 13 years, having many opportunities to preach revival meetings and preach in many of the churches where we were singing. I taught the Men’s Bible Class at the church where I was a member for several years. The class members, other pastors and some evangelists, urged me to put my thoughts and insights into print. But I had to wait on the Lord - the time wasn’t right. Now, the Lord is enabling me to publish, both in print and on the internet. Doing so has become one of the loves of my life.
I must tell you that I have no formal Bible College training - no degrees of any sort. For years I have just ( to quote a friend ) lived in the Word of God. Now I am able to proclaim Christ’s unsearchable riches as made real to me by the Holy Spirit. I have grown to love many of the old writers, the Matthew Henrys, the Spurgeons. . .but the textbook of all textbooks remains the Word of God. I’ve gained a little understanding of the proclamations of David: “Lord, I love thy precepts. . .I meditate upon them. . .”
It is my desire that as you prayerfully read these articles you may “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.” If the material is a help to you, I would surely appreciate hearing from you!
A brother,
Darius Stewart
